We used a cable cam to film the shot at 130.0-137.0

We simply got some steel cables to string between two trees, and he built a box that the camera could sit in and was protected. Some small pulleys were mounted on the box for it to roll down the track. We controlled the speed by changing the slop of the two cables, and if spaced them further apart then the pulleys of the box, it would also slow the camera down. A new rig is in the works for this year that will allow more adjustability of the camera.

and for the video, a few suggestions.
- get a tripod, and make sure you know how to use it. having a tripod and not knowing how to use it is just as bad as not having one at all
- when your making the video, dont use every single transition/effect that your program has. try to only a few and use them equally throughout the video
- make sure you get different angles. same angles over and over again gets really boring.

and to the guy above me, sick job on the video. what was the last song?

These are the three songs that were used:
Fort Minor: High Road
Swollen Members: Killing Spree
Dangerdoom: Space Hoes

Also when making the video try to get the music to match up with the picture. Like having a beat when the scene changes.

I'd go with a crane

look into it, it offers very smooth shots and usually goes for about 300 bucks, breaks down to fit in a car. check it out anyways! good luck bro

You could probly make that out of a normal tri-pod and long wood shafts.

In case you're interested, I have a thread detailing the construction of my cable cam with a short testing video. It might help you to build your own:

I have made a home made crane/jib/whatever you want to call it, using conduit, pvc and a old tripod and It turned out very good for $30 and 3 hours of work.. I would never drop $300 on one unless I was waaay into filming.. my quick one, once I got good with it produced amazing results.

EDIT: wow this thred is sooo old.. I doubt this guy is still working on that project. haha
