You have to be sure your using the right crank puller. There are two different kinds and if you use the splined one on a taperlock you will just strip the crank.

ISIS is the splined model. If you used that on a taperlock or the old style BB then that is probably what did it mate.Confused

Better luck next time. Be careful with the threading, and I think maybe the part that pushes the crank off went inside the BB spindle. I've had that happen with ISIS cranks before.

like a tapered square. A splined will look like a circle with a bunch of ribs on the outside.

u shouldve checked if there is a washer inside the crank arm and you shouldve made sure u screwed the crank puller in snug

well I used the right tool then and tool was in snug, it was in as far as it would go.
