Yep, there are separate North Island and South Land DH Cups, both are 3 race series that go from November to Febuary. Plus there is the one off National Champs race.

sup bro, most of the racing happens from like september to march, spring to autumn. the drill for the races is there is usually a practice day race day. practice day usually runs about $20- $30 bucks and thats a full day of shuttles, then race days about the same. if your part of a club then i think you get a better rate but as the general public you can just rock up and register.

yeah like the boys above said, north/south islands cup and a national champs is enough to keep you busy on the nz circut for the summer. im not a racer but ive definitly looked into it before but youd need abit of funds to get around for the summer. youd love it tho if racing is your thing, the tracks over here are awesome!!

you only need a license if you are going for points

as well as a DH circuit is there a 4X one aswell. Im coming over this october from the UK. I will be stopping at relatives in Waikato. Any info on local races appreciated

No 4x in the Waikato.
But I think there a tracks in wellington and nelson.

Thanks for the posts fellas. It definitely takes a certain amount of "funds" as I learned in Canada to race.So I am hoping the funds will be there. Will see what they are this coming season. In Taupo right now so not too far from Rotorua and looking for some people to ride with.
