Most grips would be too slippery to get paint to stick to. Secondly, paint really doesn't have all that much flex to it once its hardened. So if by some miracle you did get paint to stick, it would slowly (or quickly) crack and fall off.
P.S. You can buy grips in pretty well any colour nowadays and for the most part they're around the same cost as a can of good spray paint.
