Info taken straight from Tree's site... http://www.treebicycleco.com

Yo dudes! Here are some pics of the front hub samples that we just got in. We have been testing this hub for quite some time and we are really psyched on it. They should be in stock this fall.

-weight is 235g/ 8.4oz with the guard

-Removable and replaceable high strength nylon plastic hub guard that protects the spokes and greatly increases the life of the spokes when used by hardcore street riders. The hub will come with one guard but extra guards can be purchased separately.
-Female 17mm 7075 t6 aluminum axle.

-Straight pull spokes design, creating one of the strongest and stiffest wheels in BMX.
-Very easy to lace the wheel, just push the spoke into the hub and the spoke goes right to the corresponding hole in the rim.
-Spokes will be available through Tree Bicycle Co. they cost the same as other spokes. They will be available in black, white, and stainless also in straight gauge or butted.

-Unique thread design that prevents cross threading the axle (not shown in the pictures). The bolts thread directly into the aluminum axle. Our tests have shown that the aluminum threads are very strong so that under high torque the bolt will pull apart before the threads strip out.
-Very special bearing system that allows no looseness in the hub while at the same time allowing no resistance to rolling from side loads. The bolts can be tightened as tight as you want and it will never make the wheel roll slower.

-the hub will be available in 36hole only
-available in black,red,green,gold,blue and white.

-The spokes are laced 5 cross. We chose 5 cross because it made it possible to assemble the wheel and it has the same strength of a 4 cross which is the strongest lacing pattern for a 36 hole wheel. This design only looses an effective “flange” diameter of 1/32” or .5mm, which is very minuscule to the benefits of straight pull spokes.

Can't wait for it to come out!

I'm so excited now. If they can bring straight pull to a rear wheel, then I'm gonna be running full tree hubs. Definately going to invest in the front hub when they come out.

I agree if straight pull makes it to cassette I might switch back. that is if they can keep the hub under 17 ounces.

O+

ummm...if by 'making it to cassette' you mean MTB wheels. i believe that the deemax is straight pull and so are i9's and hope makes a straight pull hub also. but correct me if i've misunderstood you.

I9's are straight pull. This is the BMX section though, he does not mean mtb wheels. I think?

very correct, as far as I know theres no straight pull hub to reach BMX yet. our point exactly and thats what makes this hub so unique.

Their sprockets are really good, so all their products are based off of that. Their bars are good also, they just have a really good rep. Expensive, because it is only 4 people running the business out of a house and their products are machined by Super Rat Co, which I think, but not sure is made in America and not mass produced like other products. They are massed produced, but not like the other companies which in habits the price to go up. I'm not 100% sure though. Tree is rad anyways, Andy is a dope guy and his shirt he designed is unique. ahah.

tree is my favorite company, because you know if they release a product it will be top knotch. thats why so far they dont have a huge product line up.
