Thanks for the tip, i was just carrying around my point and shoot and made due with what I had. I really want to get into photography so I'm taking some classes when i go back to school

I have to agree that use of a tripod with a slower shutter speed to blur the water in the fall pictures would of had a better result. Good work!

I'll have to check out the settings more to find the shutter speed. I actaully tried to find it but couldn't. I think i will go back to get some more shots at sunset though. cheers

Most point and shoot cameras don't have a shutter speed option. they're usually at 1/1000th or something (10,000th?). I can't remember. SLR's are the way too go. They're getting cheaper too.

Well, if it's your first SLR, I'd recommend the Cannon Rebel XT. It's what I've got and it's great to learn with. You don't really need a super duper wonder camera to start with.

my old point n shoot had shutter priority, and it wasnt expencive neather, but i only found that out after i got my DSLR

I am so jealous, what a beautiful place. I agree with the slow shutter idea, although you'd probably need an ND filter in bright light like that. Nice photo!

We do have some quality trails though theres a really fun run thats 14 miles long(no pushing, and easily accesible). Theres another one that is 21 miles (all downhill) but thats an all day mission of shuttling cars up dirt mountain roads. Back to the topic, I found an old film camera in my house. It's a nikon n6006 whatever that is lol. But i can tell I will be able to do far more with it than my Point and shoot. Now to find that manuel
