BMX for Trails???

Hi I want to buy a BMX frame more for dirt/trails riding with like 14" chainstays, I was told longer stays better for stability while shorter more pop for like street.

So any help would be nice, also with TT length is there like any scale of measurement I'm 6' 1" an 190lbs. Thanks

pretty much any frame will do for trails. mutiny burlish, kink lost dutchman, macneil bb, are all nice frames for the purpose. and as for tt, there is no chart or science to it, but generally you want a slightly longer tt for trails. something around 20.25 would probably suit you nicely.

Re-read what he wrote, Drew. He's 6'1 and wants to ride trails. A 20.25" wouldn't be the best thing going for him...Unless that's a typo, which I'm assuming it is.

I'd say anything with longer chainstays and a less aggressive seat tube angle. Ex. a fly frame with a 21.tt rides like a 20.6. Being 6'5" myself, I say go with a 21" frame. a 21.5" might feel comfortable at first, because of the reach, but after a while, riding steep lips becomes awkward. I still swear by 21"tt with a nice set of tall bars. Not wide, just tall.

and here's my trail whip

Mutiny burlish. 21.5tt. I've got a 21 Fly Campilla at the shop right now waiting to be built up. Deff a trails frame lover.

im almost 6 foot and i have a 20.75 tt
If feels nice
cause its not to big but its not super small
it feels like i have more control but when i had my 21 tt it felt like my bike was controlling me
(im really picky when it comes to frames)
Like my element is fine for now

buy an s&m dirtbike, sounds like a bike that would suit you if you like flowy dirtjumps...

after my wheelset is done building im buying a midnite moonlite, from dans comp, its a verryyy good trails bike with a low slung top tube so it is easier to do cans and stuff, plus the colors are sickk!!!

All this talk of longer top tubes really makes me want to get a 21"...I'm 6'1 and riding 20.5 haha. After 2 years on that frame, by back is starting to feel it...But I just love how snappy it is!!

Hawk frame, it does it all and it is such a good price. The Hawk loves to get dirty flowing the dj's, but also will take hard hits in the streets.

i've been using my EB taildigger for a couple months now on all terrain (street, park, and dj's) and it's been holding out fine.(except for a broken brake lever from hitting a tree!) and for what u get, it's a great price.
