I'd say its almost better to start DH racing on a smaller travel bike like reign x. it'll make you smoother and if you're 14 you probly arent big enough to need a bombproof DH rig.

The commencal miniDH was $2699, in a size small it should fit you just fine, great bike for DH and park riding

i bought a 2005 norco a-line when i was 14 for a grand basically brand new with no scratches and hardly any use (guy was an experienced racer and it was a secondary bike) anyways, ive raced dh this season and gone down some pretty gnarly shit and it picks up real nice

The 08 devinci Wilson 1 costs $2799 but you can find them for less now. its a pretty good deal seeing as its a Canadian built frame and most of the parts will last you. the Frantic is also a good choice depending on were you live.
