I have the feeling you may be new here, so I'll tell you this. I don't know if you read the rules and regulations for the off-topic forums here, but you're not really supposed to ask such general questions, especially if it involves someone else making a decision for you for something as expensive as a bike. Figure out which bike suits your riding, or post what type of riding you do (more specific) and maybe someone can help you.

a good bike you can buy, or your parents can buy. honestly at age ten, unless your like steve peat's kid or something your not gonna be going very hardcore, so just get a decent hardtail and start learning the basics.

Ya, you are ten. You are not big enough to quite control a DH bike yet. But if you have your heard set, maybe a Norco B-line, Specialized Bighit grom, Kona Stinky 2-4.

Thats what I would do as well. Get a decent hardtail first, then as you get older, bigger and progrees as a rider you'll be able to really shread on a fully.tup

you are way to small to control a DH bike you should start with a nice hard tail bike

My advice is goes and look around at your local bike shops. Try and not buy something because it looks great. If you are just starting out, get something that is good and will push you to progress. For a first bike you don't need something that is really high end. Keep in mind that you are young and still growing; you will need to update your bike every few years. It is also a preference. Good luck.

Keep it real!

It doesnt matter if youve been riding a hardtail for 8 years. Chances are you probly have never done a "real" downhill trail. Your gona be starting those trails soon though and the best way to get good at them is to get a hardtail so you can feel everything that you ride and even if you have a small mistake you can feel it and hopefully learn from it. And also I doubt you even need a full suspension downhill bike. The stuff you do probly wont even require the suspension( I may be wrong im just generally saying for that age group). Just get a good hardtail to learn on and once youve learned all the essential skills and whatnot than get a full on downhiller.

Well, I looked at his album and I got to give him a little credit for being 10 and hitting that gapper. But until you and stand over your bike with clearance, and lift the bike over your head...I don't think you are ready. It's not that you aren't good enough, it's just that you are not big/strong enough to control a big DH bike.
