If you want to spread the pistons apart use a flat head screw driver.

The pad spacer/bleed block makes a good tool to push the pistons back into their bore a little (I have also used cone wrenches, flatheads, allen keys, car keys, wrenches and a stack of credit cards). I don't know if you're having centering issues but if so, loosen the mounting bolts for the caliper and then grab the lever hard. While holding the leverm tighten the caliper bolts. Voila. Perfectly centered every time. Good luck. If you want to move one piston just a little, put a credit card or business card between the pad and rotor on the side you need to move and then pull the lever hard. The other way is to loosen the wheel and then lightly push the rotor with a clean hand while reefing on the lever. If your rotor has a slight warp you can push it out with your hand in 12 seconds most of the time.

I hope some of this was useful.
