Is this becoming more common? A lot of the friends I rode mx with started getting into mountain bikes. I went up to Keystone and did some downhill for the first time last year and pretty much spanked my brother, who has been riding downhill for a few years already. After a few to many bad crashes I have decided to take a break from the dirtbike and start doing some downhill.

Anybody else get their start in moto and make their switch to pedals, and how has it helped?

I race motocross and mountain bike. They're quite similar so biking has gave me skills for motocross, and visa versa.
