I have a RM Flow and im getting BMX cranks with sprocket but is 28-16 with chain tensioner okay or will it be to easy
its for dirt jumping if that helps i can go 30-16 with chain tensioner if that helps

16 usually goes with something like a 44
I know a kid who tried 30/16, but it was pretty ridiculous.. it was like he was on granny gears on a mtb.

This was on bmx, should end up the same with an mtb.

30/16 would probably be a lot better on a mtb. Are you running 24, or 26 inch wheels? 28/16 would be really easy, i run 32/16 and its perfect for me, maybe try both and see which you like better.

what does 2:1

2:1 Would be like, 32/16, or 28/14, the back sprocket is half the teeth of the front.

I just run hussefelt cranks lol, not bmx cranks.

with 26' wheels your gonna want like 32 16 or 28 14, i run a 32 15 cause i wanted it a little harder, but generally for 26 its a good rule of thumb. wheel size will change everything though. theres an equation in some forum somewhere

the tensioner just keeps the chain tight, it doesnt affect the pedaling

ok but wat company makes 32t sprocket

alot, well 32 chainring, for bmx cranks i run a proper and its pretty good

yeah, the tensioner just tensions the chain, doesnt affect how hard it is to pedal. As for the equation, on 26 inch wheels you want comething close to 55 or so, so if you take the size of your front sprocket, divide it by your back sprocket and times it by your wheel size youll get a number, higher the number, the harder it is to pedal.
