Okay. A BMX Pivotal post is 25.4. This means the tube is to thin and you won't be able to clamp onto it. You need a shim to make the seatpost wider so the seatclamp will clamp it to stop it moving.
For this, You will need a 25.4-27.2 shim. They will be about 4 or 5 pound.
So they dont make 27.2 pivitol posts?
They do.
Can you use a 27.2 post with a seat like the Macneil SL or the Federal SL?
I did my homework last night and came up with these (approximate) figures - Stock Bike weight - 12.9kg - 28.44lbs The weight lost by tyres (Table Tops) - 600g - 1.32lb Weight lost by new seatpost seat combo - 285g - 0.63lb Bike with new tyres + seat/post = 26.49lb - 12.02kg
I also want to weigh my pedals when I get a pedal spanner to see the weight lost if I changed to Wellgo MG-1s, which weigh 376g - 0.83lb.
The total cost for the pair of tyres is around £30 Seat + Post = around £40 excluding shim Pedals = £30
Seems quite promising how easily the bike can be lightened up.
