I dont see what that has to do with cutting the seat tube...It will still be lower then before.

ok.. the number two is a pretty small number, right? now subtract 5... even lower!

slam your seat and post as low as you can get it. if there is 4" of seat tube, then your seat will always be 4" higher than it could be - no matter what kind of seat and post you use.

it's really a rather basic idea.
