any way i kinda just broke my seat post on my le toy 3 and it uses a 30.4mm seat post, now ive put the seat post frame another bike in there for now, its a 30mm seat post, just wondering if using a seat post that is .4mm smaller would be enough to weaken the metal and make the frame crack around the seat post because finding a 30.4mm seat post is next to impossible it seems.

i dunno about the frame weakness or anything, but if it helps i think they sell 30.4mm seat posts on the 2008 marin rocky ridge, the seat post is WTB i think.

I had a buddy with this problem and he got a 30.9 and made it smaller with about 1 hr and a belt sander and just painted it when he was done it sounds just wrong but it worked

yes there is a 30.4, and the only thing ive ever seen it on is a le toy3, ive found 2 company that sell the seat posts but dont know of any bike shops that can bring any of them in. so im kinda wondering if a 30mm will work, the 30.9 idea may work with sanding it down.

UK sites dont help me to much, paying like $50 in shipping to get it to canada is not some thing i really want to do, but thanks any way, atleast it gives me more options to look for

yes i can use a smaller post and shims BUT the only shims ive found make it so i can run like 27 some thing mm seat posts and personaly i think thats a bit small and weak. if i could find a shim going from 30.4 to 30 i would be really happy

with theese types of seatposts they will be mass produced and you might find one in canada just under a differing brand name.
