I'm looking at building in an area that is mostly opoplar. The only problem is that poplar is no good and all previous stunts have not lasted. Any suggestions on what wood might be better?

Good old half rotten driftwood usually lasts the test of time. Give that a try. If it doesn't work try treated pine.

if you can get your hands on cedar that's the absolute best- its resin makes it resistant to rot as well as bugs eating it!

well if u dont have cedar try treated pine. cedar is usually the best all around, try going to some places that build log homes they usually have scrap cedar u can get ur hands on for cheap or for free.
