Hey all,

While downhill is my passion and I have an Chumba F5 on its way from the factory now, I have always loved cross country and want to ride/race it on my own bike.

I recently found a nice Commencal Supernormal 2008, do you think that is a good beginner xc race bike, or even too nice for a beginner race bike?

let me know either way.

sorry but i hate it
but dont hate me for sayin that
get out and ride, and if you dont like a certain riding style because you have no physical fitness, dont go generalize and flame it

btw, yes i does seem like a good choice, just be sure to have it properly fitted and dont forget the clipins Big Grin

it has v-brakes
do nu want that?

It looks like it would work. Its a nice bike, but there is room for upgrade if need be. Just make sure the miles aren't too high on it. Otherwise some parts might need replacing.

vs are lighter and have less initial stoppin which is what you want

btw, looks good! and dont worry bout stem and saddle, or even cranks
they may be switched in fitting and saddle's personal

yeah! my friend was just saying that v-brakes were lighter and almost more ideal in some cases for XC riding. So i'm stoked on that. I'll update this forum when I get a list of components.
