hey, i want to shave the brake mounts off my frame, im wondering what the best tools to use are and some pics of other peoples frames with the brake mounts shaved off, thanks

Its not BMX, but I did all my cable guides and such off my 604. First, you need to determine how theyre attached. If its welded, only good way is to grind them. If theyre brazed though...

Heat the actual mount with an oxy-acetylene torch, and grab the mount and pull off when its red hot.

Mine turned out quite well, just gotta be careful where you put the heat.

would it be possible to just grind them down with i file, or would that take way to long?

i did it in my tech class
i used a grinder, hack saw, and sandpaper for the finish ! Smile
it was pretty simple took me about 2 complete classes to finsih

Use an grinder with the grinding wheel not a cutting wheel. The mounts are welded on so you'll know when you get close to the actual frame. If you are repainting try to grind them down as much as possible without harming the frame because you can see the left over weld in the paint.
