So this is a project I've been meaning to get to for a long time. This isn't really supposed to be a tutorial, I just figured I'd post the process in hopes that it might help or inspire others. I was sick of all the scratches in my paint as my frame is an '03 P2 and let's just say that its paint job had seen better days. So this is the story of how my frame changed colors...and wheels...haha.

1. So this is what I started with. The whole thing. The last time my bike will look like this:

2. NO PARTS!!

3. No more scratches or glossy coat!

4. And now the frame is black! This is just one coat of automotive-grade paint:

5. Finished painting. This is 1 coat of gloss and 2 coats of matte. Only thing left to do with paint is some stencil work:

So all that's left is reassembling the bike. However, my Deetraks are no more. They will be replaced with Azonic Outlaws. Woot! I'm trying to keep the theme of the bike as red/black with the white fork. Don't worry, I will be posting the finished product by the end of the week so subscribe to see it. Enjoy. =P

EDIT: Scroll down for the finished product!

^^^Yes indeed. Gold Outlaws.

This looks like it should be a good build, I'm fairly interested in this. Black and gold with a touch of white should look amazing. Subscribing!

^^^Thank you. I'm excited myself. Although going without my bike for a week sucks. But it'll be worth it when I'm done.

Today's update: (in the 1st post) I've finished painting. Gonna do some light stencil work tomorrow. Around the headtube area will say P.2. in gloss black, over the matte black. I will also be putting it back together tomorrow night. And wheels are coming friday night. Keep checking back. : ]

Changed my mind. I'm now going with red Outlaws. To be more in keeping with fork colors. Whole bike will be done by Satuday. I've just gotta go pick up my wheels. : ]

Red will look really good too! I can't wait to see it.

Quite the change if I do say so myself. I think it will be staying as is for quite sometime. Oh and the total cost of my revamp was a grand total of $17...yes $17. Hope you all enjoy the change as much as I do and that it inspires you to change up your own bike. I'll write up a full spec list if enough people bug me. Peace. : ]
