World Jr DH Champion Ruaridh Cunningham is very clearly an extremely fast rider, but the pronunciation of his first name is still a mystery to this lad from Montreal. Could you tell me what it rhymes with? Phonetic pronunciation? I've read his name many times, but I don't want to sound like an idiot when I say it out loud for the first time. At least his last name is easy to say.

Ha! I just realized it rhymes with Oury! Like the grips. I'm running the Lock-on version of their grips on my hardtail

Yeah, he owned at Fort William recently, I think it's pronounced "Roo-Arr-Idd", never heard it said but that's how I'd imagine it would sound.

the "idd" at the end is pronounced "ee" and for the the fella who wanted to know what language it is, its gaelic.

Yeah, he's the Scottish kid who rides an Ironhorse who happens to be Junior world champ now.

yes, important to say that it's Scottish Gaelic, not the Irish Gaelic. Though both are still very closely related.

pronunciation in Irish IS more like "Rooree".

In Scotland it is much closer to "Rory".

P.S. the kid rips.

or not you couldnt be more wrong, it is rooree either way, and ruaridh is the scottish spelling anyway, it has nothing to do with irish except they had a similar language at one point in time
