I'm looking to spray paint my cranks but I know that the paint will just wear off from shoe rub. I'm thinking about covering the paint with a transparent sticker. Would that be okay?

I don't see why not, The biggest problem I could see happening is the paint rubbing off onto your shoes.

get a thick sticker because the shoe will go threw the sticker as well.

Yeah I will. If I can't I'll use lots of layers of stickers. Smile

Look up on ebay for the crank protectors. They have them in different colors so if you are lucky you might not even have to paint your cranks. If they dont you can just buy the clear one. Dont do multiple layers just one panel and when it wears out replace it. Good lucky!

Those might fit im not sure, you might have to cut them and modify it until it fits.

If you are gonna cut though I would recommend just going out and getting a clear transparent tape/cover and cutting your own covers. I'm not sure exactly what most riders use, but its the same tape that's use for protecting your frames from cable rub.

Here it is in rolls. Its repackaged 3m "helicopter tape". You'd have to do a couple strips of it though.

I used a clear frame protection sticker and a few hours later, it had a hole in it.

Well it says on the site that it can be used for crank arms so it must be pretty tough.
