Anyone with either of these two bike wanna help me decide which way to go?? Both priced similar used but I can't decide!

Leaning towards to Iron Horse as I think it is just as beefy as the Norco but with a better pedalling efficiency.

What do you guys think? I live in Pemberton and do quite a bit of uphill riding here (with rough rocky downhills too) and ride the Whistler park 3 or 4 times a month or so.

Sorry I guess that part is pretty important!! An Iron Horse 7 point 5 (2005 model)

If you do alot of uphill riding, probably the Ironhorse but personally I'd go with the Shore because Ironhorse have gone broke so you'll be very lucky to have the whole warranty thing and plus, I think the Shore is a better bike from what I've heard.

How do the 2007 Shore frames handle on climbs? I'm sure they are pretty heavy but as far as compared to the DW link on the Iron Horse?

The Shore is a heavy bike yes, practically all Norco's are heavy, and the Ironhorse is alot lighter. What fork does the 7Point5 come with that you're buying?

Throw a new one into the mix...08 Reign X1 with 55s, Juicys etc?

i heard tell 55s are junk. i would go with something with more travel too

The Reign will be best climber of the bunch. The 55 isn't a bad fork, it just isn't great. Though you might want a bike with more travel for Whistler.. and if you riding rocky stuff around Pemberton.

The Shore climbs alright, the FSR suspension on those bikes has no pedal bob while riding. It's heavy and climb wouldn't be fun, but it will make it.

I guess with the fork and rear shock locked out on the Shore, the climb would be a little easier. I'm afraid that the Reign won't be able to handle the tech DH as well as the Shore or Iron Horse!

get the shore I've ridden a similarly spec'd reign and shore and would have to say that the shore feels a ton better and doesn't climb as bad as people think, as long as you have muscular legs, the shore is the right choice
