Just a quick question. Im thinking of buying some motocross pants to wear for riding in the winter as im fed up of my jeans getting ripped up this time every year, but i wana know if MX pants have pockets (for keys, phone, wallet ect).
a lot of moto x bottoms are reinforced and have extra heat resistant panels in them. this makes them really stiff and not very pedally.
army surplus is the way to go. i wear german army combats in the winter, the thick moleskin ones. they have cargo pockets, are very warm, dry out quickly and are very hard wearing.
thanks xcrisx...il look for some combats instead. Couldnt find many MX cargos on the Chinese style Ebay here. And the ones i did find were pretty pricey.

The best riding pants/shorts I have ever used are my old DCU pants(desert Combat Uniform)
MotoX pants flex, and you can pedal in them. Ever notice that a lot of DH, 4 Cross, Dual Salom, and BMX racers tend to wear MotoX pants if not wearing MotoX shorts?
Some even have cargo pockets, as well as normal side and back pockets.
it depends on the brand and make. you can get the more "racer" styled ones that have no pockets and are designed for racing and then there is ones that have pockets and are more baggy (sometimes) for more casual usage.
as far as "not pedally" thats pretty wrong. i have ran MotoX pants for about half the season now and like them twice as much as shorts. they offer more protection and are made to be vented and shed heat.
Yeah the race fitted pants are best for biking. They have a lot of flex in them and fit tighter.
Look for MX pants that are supposed to be worn inside of MX boots. If you get the baggy pants that fit over MX boots, the legs are still going to get caught up in your chain.
