Mavic Crossride Disc Strong Enough For AM/Light DH?

Hey,
So im looking at picking up some new wheels for my Pitch Comp because the stock ones a flex'y and heavy.
I was looking at Mavic Crosslines orignally but saw the Crossride disks on the new Kona Cadabra.
And throught that I may be able to save some money.
So Im wondering if they would be strong enough for Agressive AM/Light DH/FR and maybe some park riding?

Im also looking at some Transition Revolution AM and like I said above the Crossline's.
Oh And,
If you have any other "all-mountain" wheelset suggestions thats under $400 and is fairly light(no weight xc weenie shit) they feel free to post.

kinda/maybe. The crossride is kind of suppose to be an XC/somewhat AM wheelset, you could do downhill on it, but you will be running a bit of a risk doing that. the Revolution AM's might be a good alternative, but for $400 you might be able to do a decent custom build.

I believe that you will not be able to use the crossride wheels because your pike has a 20mm axel and the crossrides only come in 15mm or qr.

I have Crossrides on my 5.5 inch trailbike. I put them through harsh rock gardens, 3 foot drops with flat landings, and jumps with pretty hard landings, and they've held up strong for the few months I have had them, still true. "Light DH" sounds a bit too aggressive for these wheels, but if you have a truing stand and some spoke wrenches, then I'd say it's worth the risk. If they get out of round you can fix them up later, and you'll get some weight savings. If you want rims that you'll never ever have to worry about while riding light DH, I'd go with something a little beefier.

Easton Havoc AM, 24 straight pull spokes, pretty light, strong as fook! I've been rocking them on my DH bike for the last 18 months and the only issues I have had was a loose spoke nipple.

Edit: 28mm rims, 135 rear 20mm thru on front and around 1900g

they really wont, iv had a pair on my xc singlespeed used just for agressive xc and i had to replace them, they are good wheels for xc but not anything above that

I have the CrossRides on my xc bike and they flex like mad. NO WAY I would EVER want them on a bike that will see any amount of abuse.

yeah i agree totally ith this, i ride a pair of hope pro 2 hubs on dt 5.1 rims, they are pretty light and crazy stong, i have them on my steel hardtail but could be used on a dh rig

Mind you I am a larger fella (6'7") and had them on my XC bike. They lasted no longer than 5 rides before a tame jump took them out. The spokes came out of the hub and went into my disc cause a sudden and severe stop. So I would not endorse these for anything more than XC riding. And not much more.
