Hi, I have a specialized SX Trail 1 2009. My question is, can change the shocks DHX Coil to another Shocks AIR? Has anyone ever seen it worked? I need to do some kind of change or just replace the shock works. Att Rod
As long as the dimensions of the shock (stroke, eye to eye) are the same, it should be fine.
Yea thats basicly it. My bad with the picture it was the only one I could find real quick. If your really want to be shure, as I would be I would contact specilized just to be 100% confident. Good Luck!
specialized enduros which are basically the same as the older SX trail came with DHX air shocks i personally hated it and swapped it for a coil. also specialized has special sized shocks so good luck finding the proper size to replace yours
I too thought of changing the rear shock on my sx trail 2 09 spoke to local spesh dealer ,tf tuned and mojo who all said it should be fine as long as I got the right eye to eye. So I purchased an RP23 for a great price from merlin cycles it arrived and low and behold it dont fit . The problem is that the yoke that connects the rear swingarm to the shock also forms the support for the spring baseplate on the coil shock and clamps to the lower shock bushing and around the piston rod, which on the dhx coil is around 10-12mm however when you try to fit the air shock the yoke cannot clamp arond the air piston as it is around 23mm .According to spesh there is no alternative yoke so it will be impossible to fit without modifying or new fabrication.Funny when I got back in touch with spesh they knew it would not work I guess it sometimes comes down to who you speak to.
sorry for interupting but i have 2 questions that couldn't find answersfor-how about an ''air DEMO''?and another thing because it's only i have, will 8.75inch will fit DEMO7 i know it should run 8.5 but where's the difference comes from-the whole rear FSR linkage or just the mounting plate on the main frame? i need help guys PLEASE
