not overly light, build is around 39-42 pounds, depending on how much of a weight weenie you are. Smooth like butter though, they glide over the rocks with the ten inches of rear travel, I love mine.

Talk to tefiii2005, his V-10 is around 37 pounds. Although it wasn't cheap his bike is pretty well all Ti'd and carbon'd out.

wow, thats retardedly light, probably spent like 7-8 grand getting it that light, haha. Do you have pics, I'd like to see it.

I know and I thought he was lying through his teeth (no offense tefiii if you read this), but he posted the part spec, and he was right. He doesn't have any direct pics but here's his profile. I wrote his part spec down I'll see if I can find it.

...and if you go for one of the 2008 V10's the frame is nearly another 2lbs lighter than the "old" version...all I can say is go for it, you won't regret it

you can get tha down a bit lighter as well, change the codes for formula oro's, cranks for xt and you would save about half a pound more

My buddy got his V10 down to 36 pounds with no Ti or carbon hardware, for a lot less money.

He started with the 2006 Santa Cruz DH build kit with the World Cup fork. Biggest changes were to go to Stans freeride wheel set, Stans tubless kit with WTB tires. You can save a lot of rotating weight on your wheels where you feel it the most. Other changes were putting on a 6 inch rear rotor. E13 light guide, Manitou air shock, non locking grips, Sram matchmaker.

For nasty rough races he may opt for a heavier case tire, but he races the 36lb bike regularly.

Change the X.O for the Red 5 group, you get 50 grams ligther than the sram stuff.(if you are willing to pay 2 grand for the ultimate shifting preformence).

Guys are we trying to make it as light as possible but fragile or as light as possible and still tough and comfortable enough to ride dh?
sure we could use carbon seat posts, carbon seats, carbon baking leavers, carbon... ti...
but after every crash or dent ur seatpost or handlebar gets u can pray that it wont snap of.
anyays the more superlight stuff u have the more careful u have to be! i rather use a lexan e13 bashguard than a mrp carbon one that will splitter in 100 pieces if i hit a rock. and im not that rich.

regards chris

Its not my bike so I can't do any of that, its tefiii2005's. I know he was putting on some LG1's and some other stuff. Is the V10 BB 83mm, if it is he couldn't run XT cranks.

i rode my friends V-10 yesterday, really smooth if you set the back shock perfect but it is fairly heavy but it's a great bike.
