Hey i have a scott high octane frame painted black it was recently WET painted and the paint work is realy easely scratched and gets cabe rub realy easy recently the chain has came of and scratched the frame as you would expext but i notised when i washed it the paint just pealed off as if it was just stuck on like realy soft tape what shall i do ? How mutch is it to get a bike frame powder coated ?
hey buddy i wouldnt think it would be too expensive, i know there is a place by me that does wheels and there £30 a wheel for blasting and coating so going on that basis i wouldnt recon you should be much more than about £60-£70 i suppose it may depend on colour and if you want more than ione colour as my mate got his motorbike wheels done in two different colours and i think he was a bit more than the £30 per wheel...
Try argos cycles of you want it doing properly,it will cost around 200 depending on colours wanted, and even powder coating won't stop cable rub you need frame protectors like lizard skins.
damn thats expensive. I got my wilson frame blasted and powdercoated for like 70 bucks canadian. probably your best bet is to talk to a shop and see if they can cut you a deal. I just left my frame with them and they did it on a day when they were already blasting a big load of parts in the same colour so i got a good deal. In any case, the finish is awesome and I would greatly recommend it over painting

Argos are cycle specialists, granted it is expensive but cheaper than getting it done cheaply and badly and needing a new frame in a couple of weeks/months.
price for a one colour powder coat from argos on a full sus frame= £130/£150 depending on the suspension configuration of your bike (single pivot/vp style frame is cheaper than a fsr/ faux bar design)
Most wet paint flakes due to lack of preparation i,e you didn't sand the original paint work down well enough, your didn't degrease the frame prior to painting or you didn't under coat it with a metal under coat paint.
