ok. well personally i'd either get the 5.0 push'd (if its not already) or get a new shock such as an elka or rc4, upgrade the cranks to saints, upgrade the rear der to x0, and get a mavic ex721 laced to the front and a mavic ex729 laced to the rear. if you do get a new rear der, id also replace the cassette (sram pg990 if you want a mtn cassette, Shimano Dura Ace if you want a road casette), chain(Sram pc990), chainring(e13 g-ring). that should take care of most of your $1500

I have an 09 glory... The upgrades I have done over the year are sunline v1 pedals/bars and dm stem, Renton Ti spring, Flush cup headset (bottom cup is a TANK for what it is) thompson post/seatpost clamp, Stans tubeless, and get the maxle axel for the rear, the stock axle is also a tank! I just started running specialized tires instead of minions and saved some weight, and I just relaced the wheels with mavic 729 hoops and dt supercomp spokes. Just hit 41.2 pounds with a reliable build.
