Hi

I was wondering what neck brace was the most comfortable and has the best protection, the braces i am considering are the Leatt Adventure Neck Brace and the Alpinestars Bionic MX Neck Support. I have read some reviews and people have said the leatt prevents you looking up as more, backwards movement. I havent read any from alpinestars.

If you have had experience of one of the braces could you give your opinion and advise Smile

would be of great help thanks

Leatt are the only company that actually have a CE safety approval meaning they're the only ones that have been tested to a high standard and obviously have excelled/impressed to achieve this!

i myself i have just ordered mine as i think its not worth being wheel chair bound and with the adventure only being £170 i think its weel worth investing!

Alpinestars hands down.
I've actually tried on both, and the alpinestars one looks way better, and most importatnly - doesn't restrict your movements nearly as much, plus the invisible X straps is better mounting system then the chest straps leatt one.
For Go cart racing or st. like that maybe leatt, but for mtb'ing alpinestars.

Hey guys, Im looking at getting the Leatt adventure for bicycles or the alpinestars bionic (cheaper version) they are both around 200 quid or so, but im starting to think its worth it, even though im not a racer, or a really fast rider or anything, but ya i figure my neck is worth more than 200 quid. I'm still undecided on which one to get tho, i've been reading mixed reviews, are they both pretty much the same thing? just the alpinestars one sits a bit lower? i'll be using it with a giro remedy. if anyone can help it would be great. thanks! cheers.

Most people go with the Leatt brace because it works better with a bicycle helmet, the Alpinestars is specialy designed to work with a MX helmet.Call it stupid but the bicycle helmet has too much clearence while the MX helmet head the perfect clearence with the Alpinestars.

i know someone who much prefer's Leatt, as his alpinestars didn't have very good padding and it hurt to wear it, that maybe just incorrect set up, but bear that in mind Smile

i bought a leatt late last year and find it real comfy and doesn't effect my riding Smile

Check out the Omega brand neck brace. It doesnt put impact on your shoulders when you crash meaning; you dont break your shoulder or collar bone. There's been alot of deaths with the Leatt due to fact that when you crash it doesnt absorb impact to the shoulders. It breaks the collar bone and send it into your lung or heart. I've seen this happen with 3 people in my area.
I was wearing a Leatt and slid out in a corner (it was a crash that 99% your up and on your bike within 2 seconds) the Leatt caused me to break my rotater cuff and dislocate my shoulder. It was so bad it left my arm dangling behind my back.
Leatt brace, good for your neck, bad for everything else.

The omega isn't a rigid design and it has suspension on the wings which absorbs the impacts transfering the energy away from the rider and onto the brace it self.Genius i must say and price wise it's competive with the white bionic and Adventure brace.

Plus I've heard you get a little better range of motion with the Omega.

I have read through this thread but I wanna ask, should I get the alpinestars bionic mx because I use a mx lid?

Can someone reccomend a leatt for the same price (250ish) ?
