I'll be honest...I think it's 100% BS. Here's my reasoning

In order for the Mayan, Chinese and other cultures to calculate certain dates they had to use mathematical expressions and calculus. They did this all by hand using nothing but papaya/stone to write on. When you break down such large numbers using Logs and Calc you get very very very small decimal numbers which have a great impact on precision...Therefor if you don't have enough room to store these numbers, you lose precision/hit a wall. Hence the date of Dcc 21,2012. But why this date alone?

What did all those cultures have in common in terms of references for time? The solstices or "change of season". These are precise events which happen at the same rate no matter where on the globe. Therefor, they all started they're calendar on the same base. Most of these predictions date from cultures living within a decade of eachother. Also, keep in mind that not all predictions end on exactly Dec 21,2012.

As soon as some of these programs about the "Dec 21,2012" deal I knew there would be some sort of crazy hype about it all. I also think the Governments have a great deal of control on these "hoaxes". Just take a look at how overblown Y2K was Rolleyes ...I think if we keep wrenching our minds on such a low standing prediction that we'll all end up going insane and killing our selves...which will result in the end of the world of course Razz

p.s. I'll admit that this is probably a terrible post full of bad grammar and poor structure...I just felt like spilling some thoughts....

I just wanted to see some other peoples thoughts thats all haha Smile .

Don't forget...as much as they may have predicted some of those events (Like 9/11, Hiroshima, Fall of Hitler), most of which came from Nostradamus (sp?), they fail to mention all of his predictions which do not even fit anywhere in history and some which are pretty significant. Also, most of those predictions are so vague/coded that they sound phoney.

Hey I read some articles and watched some movies... did some research from a reliable source and can now sleep soundly.
