Got a problem with my rear hub. On a ride yesterday the hub started rubbing (internally) and feeling rough when freewheeling, and upon getting home and taking the cassette off, the freehub can be spun either way, and feels rough.

Any ideas? Razz

Thanks

I just got the same issue today. Hopefully someone can fill me in a solution to this? Freehub pawls seem to work, but i can spin forward and doesn't engage. Not sure if warranty can cover this.

pretty sure this is a common problem with the dt370 hubs, they are basically junk. Dt350 are great hubs, up grade time, hopefully you have some warranty to help but don't use another 370...

DT 370 hubs generally work great. Simple classic 3-pawl design used forever of bikes. Ive seen lots of hubs do just what yours is doing. Generally crushed ratchet pulls due to a worn out freehub bearing on the side closest to the hub shell. Luckily this is very easy to figure out. You can grab your cassette and slide the freehub off the axle of the hub and take a peek. Another reason why these hubs are not too bad.

In same cases the drivering thats threaded into the hub shell strips out, but thats not too common.

My 370 just went today off of a new 8 month old bike. My riding buddy had the same hub and his failed a month ago. These things suck.

It wouldn't be a bad idea to reach out to DT Swiss. I've heard they are pretty close to the pinnacle of customer service.

Yup same prob with my 370. I brought it to my dealer and they sent it to DT Swiss for me. Swiss honored the warranty and they are building me a new wheel with a 350 hub. It’s been about two weeks. Hoping it gets here soon!

Mine will be warrantied. So was my friends. Upgraded to 350. Only problem is, every component on the planet is back ordered right now due to Covid and the rising popularity in mtbing. So, as it stands, I can’t get a replacement for a couple months. Given I ride 2-3 times a week, this blows and so I’m a little pissed that their product failed.

I have upgraded the DTSwiss 370 3 pawl free hub to the ratchet system on two bikes. The actual hub body is very similar except for the seal. The ratchet ring, washer and sleeve are swapped and a ratchet 18-54t outer setup is swapped on with the freewheel body. The 370 seal is on the freehub and it swapped over to the ratchet freehub body. The 350/240 seal is on the hub.

Dt swiss 370 freehub is 24t
Dt swiss 350/240 freehub is 18, 36 or 54t

Does anyone know any difference in the 350 and 370 front hub? I want to get a 29” front wheel for Mullet trial and wondering if any difference between the fronts?

Thank you
