RockShox 2006 World Cup Line

Three weeks ago, during Angel Fire’s World Cup, SRAM held their World Cup level fork product launch: SID World Cup 2006, REBA World Cup 2006 and BoXXer WC 2006.From the bump swallowing, World Cup winning performance of the BoXXer World Cup to the shorter travel WC level XC fork, SID, more forks in the RockShox line will feature Motion Control damping options.

As requirements for adjustment and performance are different depending upon application, not all Motion Control forks are built the same. Reference this quick guide for the various options available in the 2006 RockShox World Cup product line.

Motion ControlThe goal was simple – Develop a damper that allowed the rider the ability to tune the desired level of efficiency, yet retain small bump performance. Make it light, and more importantly, make it durable. The result – Motion Control!

Dual AirDual Air is a light and infinitely tunable air spring adjusted via independently filled positive and negative air chambers.

Solo AirSolo Air is an easy to tune air spring system found in the BoXXer. Using a single air valve to simultaneously fill both positive and negative air chambers, fork setup is simplified, while retaining the light weight and plush ride of Dual Air.

PopLocThe ultimate in Suspension control. Turn it on, turn it off. Set it, forget it, or adjust it on the fly.

Aluminum ControlsSRAM added aluminum controls throughout our suspension line. Every rider interface can now be met with the precision feel of machined aluminum.


BlackBox Technology
These technologies are developed through RockShox’s Racing Program. Through interaction between their BlackBox Athletes and the BlackBox development team, they create products that allow their riders to achieve a higher lever of performance. These products are then tested by the world’s best racers and most progressive athletes to ensure they can perform at the highest levels of our sport.

BlackBox SpeedStack
This high speed compression circuit is added to the Motion Control damper in the BoXXer World cup, to provide additional compression control which is desirable for long travel applications like downhill racing. The BlackBox SpeedStack changes the function of the FloodGate knob from a blow-off threshold adjuster to a high speed compression adjuster.

BlackBox Carbon Crown-Steerer
Made of high Modulus carbon fiber, the design of the crown steerer capitalizes on the material benefits of carbon to produce an incredibly light yet stiff cassis. Extensively tested in the lab and the field to ensure optimum performance and stiffness!
