News Source: Phil DeetlefsHailing from Windhoek, Namibia, the 24 yrs old already has an impressive resume, including an overall fifth place finish in the Trans Alps.
After a good career start with GT South Africa, Marc has signed with South African team
Garmin-DCM for the '08 season.
Over here in the Southern Hemisphere, the XC and Marathon seasons have already kicked off and so far I've been on two podiums after three races. I won this weekends XC race pro cat, putting me in contention for the over all title and helping my bid to represent my country in Beijing.
My main events for the year include the Sani2C challenge, the Cape Epic, World Championships XC, the SA XC series and select European races. I'm working super hard and am certain this will be my breakthrough year. I hope to be competing internationally for the 2009 season.
Unfortunately a last minute change has been made to the team's bike sponsors, due to supply issues with the distributors of TREK in South Africa.
Marc has also signed with Adidas eyewear and is in the process of finalizing two more deals with personal sponsors in the hopes of international support.
Keep an eye out for him! He's the guy from the country you haven't heard of and can't keep up with!
