Geoffrey Cholley is a very cool French rider... but who is this guy exactly ? Follow us in the interview !
BR : So Geoffrey, where are you from ?
I am born in Remiremont, but since always I am linving at Gerardmer near La Bresse in France ! My bike club is "Remiremont VTT" and this year I ride the DH bike of the local brand Labyrinth, the Minotor.
BR : What kind of guy are you ? character ? music? hobbies? Food?
I am someone of very calm, but always ready for ride ! I skiing the winter and I like to be outside ! food anything goes I'm not picky as long as it's still edible! ^ ^ And I love listening to music : rap USA, indie rock and other ...
Rock and Drop !
BR : When do you start mountain biking ?
I start ride bike with my father who make cross country and it gave me the desire to do it ! I did my first race at the age of 11 years and I have continued to make Lorraine regional cups in cross country, trial and downhill. Then I turned to DH because I adored it, it's in this discipline that I take the most pleasure to ride.
BR : Why do you like in the downhill ?
I love the speed, and any attempt to pass a new path or a really technical segment, when you feel that you progress and goes faster and faster it is awesome ! I love ride fast and fun between friend, you laugh everytime it's really cool.
BR : What kind of track and field you prefer ?
I love the speed, and I find it really exciting that trying new things on the track, it's because the track that I loved was World Cup in Schladming: roots everywhere, speed ...
BR : What can you say about the race last season ?
I am satisfied, but I had trouble making a good time in the second run on many French cups ...
BR : What about La Bresse World cup ?
It's a short track, but very technical and really fun to ride ! my qualifying did not go as I want..... I had a good run but technically I'm a little lulled on the top pedal and this kind of mistake not condone ! but the atmosphere was terrible, people are all along the track and the shouted on all riders ! That was really big.
( La Bresse Downhill Cup was voted best Downhill Cup before Fort William )
Style Machine
BR : Fort William ?
a great experience ... the track was really cool to ride, during training I had a good feeling and I felt confident ! Finally everything went well and I was confident for qualifying! However, I break my chain and twist the tray after 1min30 race! I deviated a bit from my usual path ... and I hit a stone that I broke everything ! result was disastrous, and I finished a 6 second after qualification and extremely disappointed because without the mechanical problems I have could be in the final !
BR : Goals for the 2013 season in race ?
More IXS Cups, and why not World Cups. But hard with the work.
BR : What would make you grow? You finished 40th last season in Val Di Sole, but you could not do sports at school the week ...
I just do my best in every run, for be faster every time.
BR : You have a dream ? join an international team for exemple ?
Yeah it would be great to integrate a larger structure and that I can ride on big World Cup race style or ixs cup! Always have spare equipment, a follow sports ....
Something to conclude ?
mmmhhh... I am very happy to ride downhill bikes, and really motivated for the coming season !
