Help for Heroes DH Race

First of all, I'd like to give a massive thanks to the organiser Jack Bennett and everyone that helped him organise the event, without him it wouldn't have happened. As well as being an awesome event to watch and compete in, the amount of money raised for such a worthy charity cannot be ignored.

On Saturday everyone woke up to clear skies and biting cold wind; not to warm up much through the day. The track was dry and the course was bedding in nicely, with a few new sections and interesting lines local riders were kept on their toes all the way down with fast and flowy sections as well as the tight, steep and slippy sections Hamsterley is known for.

The mood was light hearted in Saturday's practice with riders throwing all sorts of moves for the camera.

SPS were pinning it all weekend

The SPS were represented with three riders there on the day, all of them killing it

As the last uplift went and practice came to an end the 4X racing started. Everyone had been anticipating fast action and sharp elbows and it definitely delivered.

The highlight of the evening was definitely Hamsterley's very own Whip-Off. Sponsored by Trail Militia Apparel and Roots Cycles the best riders came away with free tee's and Mucky Nutz mud guards.

With tunes provided courtesy of the judges spectators were in for some of the best whips Hamsterley's seen.

Bar Humpings

Inbetween whips and suicide no handers there was plenty of bar humping

For Sunday the weather had changed completely, the track had seen torrential rain that didn't let up all day. No ones spirits seemed to be dampened though, and no one was slowing down with only 2 hours before race runs.

After getting some of the highest, steeziest whips the silent pink demo was hammering out runs at top speed all day

The rain had put inconvenient wheel sized holes in the track but riders kept pinning it

Many of you may remember Danny Hart's Help for Heroes bike from Fort Bill this year, he was here supporting the charity again and giving riders encouragement at his local track

Congratulations to Adam Brayton who took the win in the elite catagory with the fastest time on track ahead of Emyr Davies riding for Team Skene and Jack Reading

The event was a massive success and consequently will be taking place again next year, hope to see you all next year. Enjoy the videos from Robbie Giles Media.
