Mountain Creek Resort To Open Diablo Freeride Park
The Diablo Freeride Park will host some of the most challenging trails on the east coast. With trails ranging from beginner to expert and beyond, The Diablo will appeal to all levels. Those who remember the trails at Mountain Creek in 2000 can look forward to riding some of their favorites once again, plus there are various new trails that have been added for this grand opening. TerraLogic Park Industries has made a commitment to the development of the sport and will be creating a freeride and downhill trail network that will allow riders to push the limits of conventional freeriding. In addition, there are seemingly endless cross single-track trails easily accessed off of Vernon Peak for avid cross country riders. Whether you go up or you go down, this park will rock.
"We have worked extremely hard to launch this park and we are stoked to once again open up Mountain Creek for the local riders," says Shawn Orecchio, CO-owner of TerraLogic Park Industries. "We have negotiated a multi-year lease to ensure longevity of the program and to let our customers know we are here to stay."
The grand opening is set for Saturday, May 24, 2003. Operations will continue every weekend from May 24th through September 27th including 3 midweek holidays. Riders interested in unlimited access to the Diablo Freeride Park will have the opportunity to purchase a season pass. Season passes are $289 and will go on sale in the very near future. Single-day lift tickets which provide 8 full hours of chairlift and trail access will cost $28.
"Mountain bikers, especially downhillers & freeriders, need more places to ride and better terrain. Diablo has been created by riders…for riders," says CO-owner Clay Harper.
