New From Sinister - The R9 Full Squish

To be built in cooperation with Frank The Welder and FTW Industries, Sinister Bikes will be showing off their newest creation, the R9 at this weekend's NORBA stop at Mt Snow, VT. The R9 is Sinister's first suspension bike, a nine inch travel frameset that
was built to meet the demands of downhill racing on the east coast. The frame is made from 6061 series aluminum and 100% made in the USA.The R9 utilizes a 9.5 x 3.0 inch stroke rear shock and we are currently
working with Romic, Avalanche and Progressive for rear shocks. To keep the
rear end flex free, we incorporated a 12mm thru axle which will incorporate an
independent derailleur hanger; that will make the frame less vulnerable in a
crash. If the hanger is torn off in a crash, it can easily be replaced by
slipping the tab off the axle. The tab will also make removing the rear wheel
less of a chore.

Some of the other standout features are a remote reservoir mount (for shocks
with a remote reservoir), sealed bearings at all pivot points, an oversized
1.125 headtube (which is compatible with deep press headsets), and our one
piece ISCG bottom bracket shell.

Here are some of the R9's technical specs:

Head Angle: 67.5 degrees
Effective Top Tube Length: 23.50 ctr to ctr
Seat Tube Length: 17.00 ctr to ctr
Chainstay Length: 17.00 ctr to ctr
Bottom Bracket Height: 14.50 (w/26 inch wheel)
Bottom Bracket Width: 73 mm
Rear Hub Width: 135 mm w/ 12 mm thru axle
Travel: 9 inch max and 7.5 inch min
Tire Clearance: 24 x 3.0 or 26 x 2.8
