The Ford Adventure Sport Challenge is hitting Beaver Creek (CO) from July 17-20, 2003. There is a 24-Hr Mountain Bike race, which carries a prize purse of $15,000, and starts on Saturday, July 19th, at 12 Noon. As for the MTB course, it is 11.9 miles long with 1,880' of climbing. The course has several miles of fun, fast double track, some road climbing and some fairly technical singletrack. Parts of the course have been used in races before, but a race has never used this exact course. The course has everything from road climbs to rolling singletrack to fast doubletrack to a few technical sections of singletrack. There is plenty of room to pass on approx. 75% of the course. Participants can race on their own, or with a team, and winners are determined by the number of laps completed - multiple divisions.

Other events for the inaugural Ford Adventure Sport Challenge are: Climbing, the Nike ACG 5K and 10K Trail Run, and The BALANCE BAR 24-Hour Adventure
