Hot Shots High School Film and Ad Festival - Alberta

Did you get some solid footage this season you want to share with the world? Are you and your bros looking for your big break to make it onto the big screen? This is your chance. Submit your short, biking, skiing or other action sports videos to Hot Shots. You could have your movie screened for hundreds and maybe pocket some cash and prizes.
The first of its kind in Western Canada, The Hot Shots High School Film and Ad Festival will be accepting submissions all summer long across Alberta. Current high school students and 2003 grads can submit their original Short Films, Action Sports Films and Charity Ads to the festival. Early Bird Entry prices apply until August 1st. The deadline for entries is September 1st, 2003.

Hot Shots culminates September 17th in Calgary with the gala competition finals and showcase at The Uptown Stage and Screen, complete with bright lights, golden trophies and red carpets. All finalist Films will be screened for public viewing and judging.

At the end of the evening winners and runners-up in each category will walk the stage to receive The Golden Reel Trophies, cash and other prizes. The winner of the Hot Shots Short Film Category will be screened in the Calgary International Film Festival this fall.

All videos submitted for the Action Sports Short Competition must be under 4 minutes in length. Lifestyle content is encouraged but all films must receive a PG rating from the Alberta Education and Film Ratings board to be considered for the competition. Entries will only be accepted from current Alberta high school students or 2003 grads - submissions from outside Alberta are welcome and may get showcased, but the competition and prizes are only open to those who meet the contest criteria.
