Some things at Turner Suspension Bicycles, Inc. will never change. Yes over the past 10 years Turner bicycles have evolved! More travel, lighter frames, new designs, but one thing hasn’t! Since day one Turner Suspension Bicycles, Inc. have always been committed to quality & service, thus constantly providing riders with, race proven, winning designs.
Like every year, Turner’s booth was showcasing an amazing line of beautiful bikes. Turner’s first Interbike show was in 1994. At the time they only had one bike to showcase, that was the Turner Burner, which died out after a few year. This year Turner decided to bring it back with reduction in price at $1395.00 US MSRP. This by doing some cost savings in the BB area, using shock tabs instead of the huge billet parts, reduced the amount of butted tubes in the frame, which still give you a light frame at 6lbs for a Medium size frame with Fox Float R.


The Burner features 3.6 inches of travel, double butted tubing, bushings with zerk fittings, the Fox Float R with Pro Pedal, disc or cantilever option and the same US made quality you’ve come to expect from Turner Suspension Bicycles, Inc.


For 2004 the Turner DHR is lighter, meaner and is sure to light your fire!!!! The new and much improved DHR bares the same exact geometry and suspension system as the 2003 DHR, but has a completely redesigned front end on it. Therefore Turner was able to shave 14oz on the Medium frame. Also by going to rectangular tubing they were able to cut cost, which lowers the price of the frame to $2195.00 US Dollars.


The DHR features 8.5 inches of rear wheel travel, a 1.5 standard headtube, rectangular/square tube frame design, Romic works shock, 20mm through axel, and a low center of gravity to keep the tires glued for ripping through corners.


Since Turner redesign the DHR, they decided to use the same rectangular tubing for the 2004 RAIL. This way they were also able to reduce the price of the RAIL, which retails for $1395.00 US. A cool new feature on the RAIL is a 2 position chip at the rear of shock mount that allow you to adjust the rear axle + or – one inch.


The RAIL features 4.5 inches of rear wheel travel, a 1.5 standard headtube, rectangular/square tube frame design, Fox Pro Pedal Shock, disc brake mounts, and like the DHR a low center of gravity.


Also on display at the Turner booth was a concept freerider frame called HIGHLINE. This bike was put together right before the show. Since there is such a difference in freeriding between Western deserts and Western forest, Dave decided to seek feedback from people in western Canada and Utah before designing the HIGHLINE.


The HIGHLINE is built with custom-made super strong rectangle tubing that puts a massive amount of strength across the load zones. Full-length seatube so you can smack that saddle all the way down for those gnarly descents, or way up for the climbs. If this frame doesn’t outlast anything you have ever owned, you’re in the morgue. MSRP on this baby is $1,595 US.
