What do Norco, the Berring Sea and Siberia have in common? Besides a reputation for toughness and challenging the limits of top level athletes, these three will be intertwined with Canadian endurance expeditioners Colin Angus and Tim Harvey in their bid to journey self-propelled from Vancouver to Moscow. Colin and Tim are working closely with Better Environmentally Sound Transportation (BEST) to help bring attention to environmental issues. Over 10,000 km of their journey will be traversed using Norco mountain bikes. The Vancouver to Moscow team will be using their Norco Bigoots on the leg from Vancouver to Fairbanks (3600 km) and then again from Magadan (Eastern Siberia) to Moscow (10,000 Km). In Russia they will follow the ice roads for a large part, which are essentially just a cleared swath passing over the muskeg. They will then travel for 1000 km along the top of the frozen Lena River which is used as a vehicular transport route in the winter. Norco Performance Bikes, Colin and Tim, and BEST, have teamed together to make the impossible possible--travel self-propelled from Vancouver to Moscow and raise awareness of global warming and the sensible choice of human-powered travel. We hope that you like us, wish the team great success in their year-long adventure.
