Mount 7 Psychosis - This Weekend - Golden, BC

First comes the chit chat..."So when's the race this year?". " I don't know but it'll be fun.". Then comes the first few trail days..." The course is lookin good for this early in the season!". "No doubt, it looks good to go!". The riders start to get a couple good ones under their belt and feel a slight glimpse of the love. The bikes get dialed in slowly like a fine swiss watch. Some will be racing on the big weekend coming up in the spring... some will be sold to pay for peanut butter because that person happens to have a serious riding problem interfering with work. None the less there are a select core of the population in Golden and the surrounding area that are getting really amped up these days as the 6th annual Psychosis approaches.


Listening to Stone Temple Pilots while writing this isn't exactly helping me stay calm on the keys either! As the day approaches and the watches are ticking perfectly, the temperature inside the ninja turtle suit rises appropriately. The gloves do their best to absorb the sweat as you plow through a training run that feels good but a bit on the edge of keepin' it together.

You're training daily because "this is the one"! The test of all that you got in your tank. You register for your category and pay your dues even though you know you may really have to pay the piper during the gruelling race. The race is in the morning. You know you won't sleep much tonight.. but that's racing the psychosis.
