You may never get a chance to sit behind the wheel of a $200,000 Ferrari or take the controls of a $5 million dollar jet fighter, but with the help of your local bike shop and Cannondale, you’ll be able to experience for yourself some of the most advanced, high-performance bicycles in the world.Bicycle Sports Pacific in Downtown, Vancouver and Cannondale Bicycles will be the official bike sponsor of the 2004 Gastown Grand Prix. On Wednesday July 21st BSP and Cannondale would like to offer area cyclists the opportunity to test-ride a range of high-performance Cannondale Mountain and road racing bicycles, including the all-new Six13.

The 613 is the same bike that pro cycling team Saeco/Cannondale just rode to a second straight Giro De Italia Tour win.

“I love this mountain, and I’m super excited to offer up Cannondale’s finest bikes for test rides here” - Cannondale technician Jack Guebard

“Cycling technology has undergone an amazing revolution in recent years. Cannondale weaves three different types of carbon fiber stains into each tube (top, down and seat tube) and interlocks each tube into aluminum clusters with proprietary technology. This process makes one of the lightest, fastest and yet, most comfortable bicycles ever” explained Rhys Pickup, Bicycle Sports Pacific manager. “Whether someone is a serious cyclist, or just thinking about getting back into cycling for fun and fitness, this is a fantastic opportunity to try the very latest innovations.” Anyone interested in test-riding a Cannondale should bring a photo ID and a helmet, said Pickup.

For the mountain bike riders the demo truck will head to the Crankworx Mountain Bike Festival at Whistler Mountain from July 22nd – 25th. “I love this mountain, and I’m super excited to offer up Cannondale’s finest bikes for test rides here,” exclaimed Cannondale technician Jack Guebard. “Come see us in the Tech area and go for a rip on the bike we developed in BC the Gemini, Jekyll or Scalpel, I’ll have Six13’s for you road guys as well. And you may just be lucky enough to get an autograph from Cedric Gracia and Aaron Chase or, get a sneak peak of our new all mountain bike, the Prophet ”.

If you happen to be in the Village Expo area stop by the BSP/Saeco booth and enjoy the day with a fresh Latte’ Espresso or Cappuccino. For more information, call Bicycle Sports Pacific at (604) 682-4537.
