News from across the pond: UK's No 1 future prospect.

This weekend and by the narrowest of margins Danny Hart missed out on Sunday the 24th of July from being the only UK rider to ever triple up in all MTB disciplines at National Championship level.Danny is the UKs No1 MTB protégé and at only 14 is virtually unchallenged in the Juvenile category. In June he convincingly took the National Champs Jersey for 4x, quickly followed in July by storming the National Champs in Downhill and winning by several seconds. This weekend he raced the XC National Champs and finished a credible 2nd, only 20secs off the leader!

A twist to the tail involves Danny’s Team Manager, Si "Superfly" Paton who cleverly (or so he thought) placed a bet at the beginning of the season on Danny taking the triple! With odds of 250-1 and a $500 bet, he gained to profit by some $125,000 last weekend at the XC Champs. Superfly was last seen in the finishing straight wielding a big stick, only be disarmed by the crowd. When Danny crossed the line in 2nd place, Superfly collapsed and had to receive oxygen and medical attention from the First Aid tent.
