AUDIO INTERVIEW INSIDE

Building on the polpular and still available Eliminator DH frameset, Azonic has added 3 new full suspension framesets named the XXtension series. All 3 framesets use the patented Horst link 4-bar linkage and are available in your choice of color, as long as it’s polished silver. Starting with the Recoil, their 8.5-inch travel DH model, Azonic has wisely placed sealed bearings at each pivot and Progressive’s 5th Element is standard. There’s also an optional Romic shock available. Geometry is adjustable (though not so much as the Eliminator) and the rear end features beefy chainstays in a 150mm width, 12mm thru-axle. MSRP should be around $1995 US.

Next up is the Saber, their 5-6 inch travel freerider. Sporting a Fox Vanilla RC, replaceable derailleur hanger, heavy duty gussets at the top and down tubes, the bike will be available in 17 and 19-inch sizes and should hit stores in early February. Look for an MSRP of $1295 US.

Last in the XXtension series is the Propulsion, a 3.5-inch travel lightweight XC ride. The Alcoa 7005 frame is spec’d with Fox’s AVA R rear shock and has been thoughtfully gusseted at critical junctions.

In the soft goods, Azonic is making some new freeride shorts that feature heavy duty nylon, woven spandex side panels and zippered pockets in a more subdued package than you’d expect from Azonic. For those of us in more inclement climes, there’s the redesigned Freeride pant. Made of Cordura and woven spandex side panels, the oversize baggy’s should provide plenty of room for your protective gear with the added bonus of zip-off legs. Sadly, there were no pockets to be seen from my vantage point. Dammit, freeriders need pockets too!

The $150US AZX helmet gets updated graphics and a molded strap channel at the back for and the WF 544 replaces last year’s 541. The 544 is available in a plethora of adult and child sizes at an MSRP of $99.95US (kids) and $119.95US (adult).

Azonic could very well have one of the most complete product lines available from clothing, components, frames and eyewear to the gear bags that could carry your goods. Unfortunately, we don't have the time or space to detail it all.

You'll have to visit the Azonic Web Site for the full product line.
