Back in September, you may remember
reading an article about how Calgary Cycle teamed up with Devinci and organized a bike raffle to benefit the local trail associations around Calgary. The strategy was simple, canvas the trails, the shops, everywhere possible preaching the format: With a $10.00 donation you received an entry into a draw for a Carbon Devinci Django RS.
Fast forward two months and here we are today. We are proud to announce we have raised over $10,000.00 to be split between the Calgary Mountain Bike Alliance, Greater Bragg Creek Trails Association, and Moose Mountain Bike Trails Society.
It was time to draw our big winner. We brought together Sandy Bruce(GBCTA) David Owen(GBCTA), Kevin Garrets(MMBTS), David Mills (CMBA), and the Calgary Cycle commander and chief Derek Lee to draw a winner and talk trails. There was an overwhelming sense of appreciation from all 3 trails organizations towards both Devinci and everyone who donated to this cause. The money raised by this raffle will keep the trails in our area maintained and ensure there is a chance to see some exciting new projects get started in the new year.
Now to the important stuff! It was time to pick a winner!
Aaaaannnnddd the winner is…Congratulations to Ian Cook! We are hoping you enjoy your new rig and we get you out on the trails in the spring!
With $10,000.00 in cash headed towards the trails, I am sure that we will see some amazing new projects from this group of trail wizards next summer!! A huge thanks goes to everyone who bought tickets, all of the staff and volunteers who sold tickets in store or at the trailhead, and of course Devinci for giving us a grand prize to give away!
