Press Release: California Mountain Biking Coalition

If you had $8,000 to give to your favorite trail organization, who would choose?!

Bosch eBike Systems, the leading manufacturer of premium-quality drive systems for pedal-assist electric bikes, has announced a unique mountain biking initiative in tandem with Cannondale and the California Mountain Biking Coalition (CAMTB). The new statewide trail stewardship program, “Can You Dig It?!” will help raise awareness and provide much needed financial support to nonprofit trail riding advocacy groups across California, with the funding being used to bring shovel-ready trail projects to life and underwrite education programs for both Trail Crews and Trail Riding Communities.

In hopes of raising fifty thousand dollars to support the newly minted “Can You Dig It?!” Trail Stewardship program, Bosch eBike Systems, Cannondale, and CAMTB are teaming up to give away an eight thousand dollar trail builder prize package, including a Cannondale Moterra Neo 3 Carbon eBike, Burley Coho XC Trailer, Trail Boss USA hand tool, and a tricked-out Bosch Power Tool Kit, to one lucky trail advocacy organization.

bigquotesIn a normal year, CORBA does over three thousand combined hours of trail work. It is essential for our crews to have access to the right tools. Scoring a rig like this would allow us, and other organizations like it, to maintain more miles of bike-friendly trails and get to those hard to reach places with greater ease.Steve Messer, President of CORBA

For every five dollars donated, entrants will receive one chance to win. The winning ticket will be chosen on October 31 with donations accepted until Oct 30, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. The winning individual will receive a $1k gift pack from Bosch, Trail Boss, and Troy Lee Designs, AND the opportunity to award the $8k Trail Builder package to his/her favorite trail organization. The selected organization must be a recognized 501(c)3 organization or fiscally sponsored 501(c)3 with an established mission that focuses on multi-use trail stewardship.

bigquotesMountain biking relies on the commitment of its community to give back, pick up a shovel, support trail projects and engage in advocacy work. One exciting element of this engagement has been seeing the growing number of trail groups and individuals using eBikes to get even more work done. This was our inspiration to hop on the line with our friends at Cannondale, Burley and Trail Boss to create this ‘ultimate trail work package’ in support of CAMTB.Steven Sheffield, Bosch's Team Leader for Business Development

They'd raise a ton more money on this if the bike went to the winner. They'd raise so much more if the bike went to the winner that they could go ahead and throw in an extra bike for the org and still come out ahead.

Agreed. I don't want any tools to do real work...... I just want the bike. I feel like there's something tricky with taxes going on here but I'm not an accountant.
