Hanover Freeride MTB park - Ontario

Jun 28, 2010
by Chris Sanderson
With an opening scheduled for mid summer, the Hanover Freeride Mountain Bike Park is starting to really take shape. With over 20 features, a dirt jump park and 3 and a half trails there is now lots for the riders to shred, and progress on.

Learn more inside,The Hanover Freeride Mountain Bike Association was formed in Hanover, Ontario during the spring of 2008 after many jumps and hurdles. It has since grown from a couple of gnarly bearded mountain bike maniacs into a small group of dedicated volunteers and riders. This season the association is trying to make more of an impact on the mountain biking community, we will be organizing at least one dirt jump competition, a new approach on a dual slalom race and a freeride competition later in the summer as well as filming a full length mountain bike movie. The association will also begin selling merchandise this year, with t-shirts currently available and hats and stickers coming very soon.

That's enough about the freeriders though, now it's time to talk about the Hanover freeride mtb park. With the opening scheduled for mid summer we're now completing the final trail and putting the finishing touches on the features and signage. With a beginner/intermediate trail named "The Pig", an intermediate trail named "Gor's Gaps", an xc trail, as well as an unfinished advanced/expert trail that will be open for riding. There is also a dirt jump park with jumps ranging from beginner to expert and two skinny parks, one for beginners, one for intermediate riders. Even though the opening is set for mid summer, the park is not going to be complete as long as the Hanover Freeriders still exist, every year and even this year more will be added to or altered in the park. The park will continue to grow and continue to give options for riders to progress, we are an organization that is run primarily by volunteers so anybody who wants to lend a helping hand, all help is appreciated.

I am too old for that kind of riding & still do alot of XC but will definitely come by & check it out when I am up visiting my relatives.

Is everything capable of being rode around?
