MTBco Launches Biketoberfest!

There's no time for watching rampage. MTBco are hunkered down planning an epic end of season festival of mountain biking.

Sorry Gee and TVH, it's time for some radness of our very own before the snow flies. Introducing...

MTBco's BiketoberfestBiketoberfest - it’s like Oktoberfest, but with mountain bicycles, not lashings of hot tasty grub and strong beer. Although I’m sure we can fit some of that hearty goodness in too.

Call it a mini-festival of everything mountain bike related. MTBco launches our first Biketoberfest with the NWD9 premiere at the Kelowna Community Theatre on Friday 10th.

The next day is the "2008 Thanksgiving Mashup" - part ripping, part social, part don't-be-shy-come-make-new-friends. A day of ripping Gillard from 10:00AM. Bring yer buddies, bring yer truck, grab yer bike and let’s rip. The trails have never been in better condition. Come along and say hi. Or something equally friendly. It's a mashup - anything can happen, and it may carry on through Sunday. The local MTBco rippers will decide that.

On Sunday 19th October is the “Wake the Dead” Halloween-themed Postil Trail day. 10:00AM meet at Postil Lake Road, free breakfast and after-work BBQ. Bring tools and work gear.

Grab your tools and let’s buff Postil to perfection! Tacky soil means perfect conditions for moving the dirt. Meet 10.00AM Postil Lake Road. Look for the crowd. Watch out for freaks, bogeymen, ghosts and ghouls. At Postil, anything can happen. And it usually does.

Next up we have the “Halloween Death Ride” on Saturday 1st November at Gillard. 10:00AM meet at the shuttle parking lot. Free breakfast and BBQ. All day ripfest. Get yer fancy dress out - Halloween’s not over til MTBco says it is. So grab yer fancy dress and creep around with the mountain biking freakshow. Prizes for the best dressed freaks. Special prize for the first MTBco ripper to spot a sasquatch.

So come along and have a good time out on the trails. Oh yeah, we conjured up this festival of mountain biking madness at the very last minute. Imagine what we could achieve if we actually had a plan ! Well next year will just go huge, as big as a big hulking monstrous thing lumbering through the bush. So if you're reading this and thinking mmmmm tasty, keep Kelowna in mind for October 2009.
