The BIKE Festival Saalfelden Leogang has a very special treat in store for you right at the start of the event on 15 September: a screening of “Nothing's For Free - The History Of Freeride Mountain Biking” will take place on Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. Gondola ride and Admission are free, with around 350 seats in the Asitzbräu allocated on a "first come, first served" basis. The organizers ask for voluntary donations for Wings for Life. The Foundation for Spinal Cord Research has set itself the goal of finding a cure for paraplegia.

The film "Nothing's For Free", produced by Freeride Entertainment and Outside Studios, celebrated its world premiere at Crankworx Whistler at the end of July. It tells nothing less than the story of the mountain bike freeride movement from an absolute niche sport to a trend within the mountain bike scene that is recognized worldwide. The film lets legends such as Wade Simmons, Brett Tippie, Richie Schley and Hans Rey have their say and, via Danny MacAskill or Brandon Semenuk, also creates the transition to a new generation of heroes in the scene such as Brage Vestavik and Jaxson Riddle. The almost two-hour long, gripping film is the perfect start into a weekend that is all about mountain biking.

The film premiere would like to support the Wings for Life Foundation in its goal of making paraplegia curable. The organizers are therefore asking for voluntary donations. 100% of the donations received go to research.

“We are very happy that Freeride Entertainment and Outside gave us the green light to show 'Nothing's For Free' at BIKE Festival. The film covers 30 years of mountain bike history and fits in perfectly with the festival. We are pleased to be able to make this film premiere possible for our guests and visitors. The fact that Tarek will also be there makes the evening even more special.” – Kornel Grundner, Managing Director of Leoganger Bergbahnen

The film’s screening will take place on the first day of the BIKE Festival Saalfelden Leogang, 15 September, at 7:30 p.m. in the Asitzbräu at the mountain station of the Asitzbahn gondola. Entry is from 6:30 p.m. Admission is free, with around 350 seats in the Asitzbräu allocated on a "first come, first served" basis. Mountain bike star Danny MacAskill and freeride pioneer Tarek Rasouli, whose impressive life story is told as part of "Nothing's For Free", will also appear at the premiere and answer questions as part of a Q&A.

“Really excited to have Nothing’s For Free playing at such a cool venue on top of the mountain at the BIKE Festival in Saalfelden Leogang. Leogang have been long-time supporters of Freeride Entertainment and the sport of freeriding in general. Please join us for this special evening and the Wings for Life charity. Let’s continue to push to cure spinal cord injury together!” – Derek Westerlund, Director of Nothing’s For Free and Founder of Freeride Entertainment

“I am really excited to be going to the movie premiere of Nothing’s For Free in Leogang, watching my riding heroes and the history of the sport I love on the big screen along with a crowd of like-minded mountain bike enthusiasts. See you there!“ – Danny MacAskill, mountain bike legend

“Nothing's For Free was something Derek had planned for a long time. When he asked me if I'd like to part of the film, I felt honored and of course excited, even though he said it's not just going to be a couple of happy interviews and only good times. He wanted to tell the true stories of the freeride world with all their rough edges. What Derek has created really gets under your skin and is absolute top entertainment. I'm really happy that the documentary will also be premiered here in Europe and that Leogang is ready for it. It’s awesome that they don't even charge admission, but are calling to donate to the Wings for Life Foundation in order to hopefully find a cure for spinal cord injuries soon. I'm very happy about that, because everything has its price, as many freeriders in particular can say. I'm curious to see what the European bike community will think about the film." – Tarek Rasouli, freeride pioneer
